Accessibility Policy

Tobacco Factory Theatre is committed to making this site as accessible and useable as possible to all users, irrespective of their abilities and the means they use to access tobaccofactorytheatre.com.  We are aware of our responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and aim to fulfil both these requirements and the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0

Tobaccofactorytheatre.com uses semantic XHTML for structure and pure CSS for styling and layout.  The site is designed not to rely on images for navigation and where they are used text fallbacks have been made available.  While the site does make use of Javascript and Adobe Flash, neither of these technologies are required in order to view the site and where they are not available the site gracefully degrades to the next available technology.  The site is designed to be navigable whilst any combination of images, CSS, javascript and or Flash are not available, though in some of these circumstances it may look odd.  The site avoids the use of low contrast text for critical and interactive elements, and does not rely solely on colour to differentiate navigational elements.

The site supports the use of tabindex to allow users to navigate pages using a computer keyboard or similar device.  Links to allow users to skip to the main content and main navigation areas of each page are provided at the top of ever page for users who do not have Javascript enabled.

The following access keys are also available for use on all pages of this site:

1 - Home page
2 - Skip navigation
3 - Site map
4 - Search
6 - Help
8 - Terms and conditions
9 - Contact Us
0 - Access key details (this document)

The key combinations required to use accesskeys vary depending on your browser/user agent.

If you have difficulties in using the site or would like to make suggestions as to how we can improve the site’s accessibility then we invite you to contact us and we will endeavour to assist you.
