A Christmas Carol
Bah! Humbug! Christmas is a fraud!
Scrooge has lost his way in life. Once upon a time he was an honest, hard-working man; now he’s a bumbling and grouchy old miser, who can’t even see the point of Christmas. His world is turned upside down, however, when on Christmas Eve he receives some rather unexpected guests and is taken on a journey through the strange and vivid landscapes of the past, present and future.
Tobacco Factory Theatre presents another fabulously entertaining adaptation of a classic family favourite for Christmas 2008. Set against a backdrop of Dickensian Bristol and told with fantastic original songs, hilarious characters and larger than life performances, A Christmas Carol promises to be a memorable and magical show for all ages.
The creative team includes Bristol playwright Toby Farrow, who adapted the Tobacco Factory’s production of The Jungle Book, award-winning Director Andy Burden of last year’s smash – hit Alice Through The Looking Glass, and Katie Sykes, designer of acclaimed show The Ugly Duckling.
In this mesmerising production, director Andy Burden proves that you do not need fairy godmothers, chart hits, catchphrases, or well-known faces to keep children enthralled.
