WINTER/SPRING SEASON LAUNCHED!

On Monday 7 Nov, our Factory Fans, Cinderella: A Fairytale cast and crew and lots of lovely TFT friends celebrated the start of rehearsals for Cinderella: A Fairytale and the launch of our Winter/Spring season.  The new Theatre Bar was packed to the rafters with excited revellers delving into the new pink (yes pink) brochures and talking to the Cinderella: A Fairytale cast and crew about the process of making the Christmas show, the music, puppets, magic and ugly step brother (!!) we even had some mulled wine and delicious hot soup from Soukitchen and yummy bread from Mark’s Bread to get us into the festive spirit!!

TFT Director Ali Robertson introduces the new season:

This season is always structured around three mighty planks – our Christmas show and two productions from Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory (SATTF).
This Christmas we’ve assembled a fantastic cast and to create a Cinderella that I’m sure will be talked about for many years to come. It is twelve years since Lear has been seen in Bristol and for SATTF to return to one of the greatest plays of all time is a glorious prospect. They also bring us The Cherry Orchard, their third excursion into Chekhov, following a legendary Three Sisters here in 2005 and a wonderful Uncle Vanya at BOV.

I am thrilled to present such a strong programme in both spaces. As well as top-drawer comedy in the Factory Theatre we present a timely adaptation of a classic, The Ragged-Trousered Philanthropists, as well as one of Bristol’s favourite visiting companies, Little Bulb. Anyone who has seen them before will be racing to The Marvelous and Unlikely Fete of of Little Upper Downing. The Brewery programme is the strongest it has ever been. Alongside some of Bristol’s best companies we are presenting Blind Summit, Third Angel, mala voadora, Paines Plough, Show and Tell and Idle Motion. It’s an absolutely stellar season and I really hope we see you down here often.”

The winter/spring season brochures will be hitting doorsteps this week, if you haven’t received one by next week let us know (by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) and we’ll pop one in the post for you.
