The Brontes come to Bristol
The country has gone Bronte barmy this month and we are no different, at the beginning of October we welcome back Northern Broadsides with Blake Morrison’s fantastic new play We are Three Sisters which has received critical acclaim after it’s opening in Halifax this week.
The Brontes are a truly intriguing family, their lives filled with imagination, talent, hope, despair and tragedy. Remote and removed from society, the physical and social constraints of their lives fuel an outpouring of radical thinking, talent and imagination that created some of our best love literature. Now come to know the women behind those great literary voices and discover three bright, feisty and ever-so-distinct personalities.
We are Three Sisters is an evocative study of their hopes, dreams and aspirations in a dark, unforgiving and socially confining world. It is a brand new play, by Northern Broadside’s long-time collaborator and celebrated writer, Blake Morrison. Through the lens of his perceptive and intelligent writing experience the world and lives of the Brontes as you never.
