Want to act? Into dance and physical theatre? Enthusiastic about film?SWAN LAKE UNPLUGGED IS FOR YOU!
In an exciting collaboration with the experts in theatrical storytelling at Fairground and the masters of physical performance and dance at Kompany Malakhi, the Tobacco Factory Theatre presents a not-to-be-missed opportunity for young people to explore the incredible story of Swan Lake.
Cursed by the evil sorcerer Von Rothbart, by day Odette is a swan who swims in a lake of tears and by night a beautiful princess. When Prince Siegfried falls madly in love with her, it looks like the curse will be lifted…
It’s a huge brooding story full of big characters and big emotions and Tid can’t wait to get stuck in: “This is going to be an amazing experience for all involved, whether they are first timers to acting and physical theatre or very experienced. The days will be playful and inspiring and I am really excited about what the young people are going to make. The sharing at the end of the week should also be a real treat for parents. And I can guarantee there won’t be a tutu or pair of tights in sight!”
Tid is renowned for making exciting and dynamic theatre for and with young people and Kompany Malakhi runs acclaimed education programmes across the city. Over this exhilarating week, participants will be encouraged to be creative, take risks and work together to explore different ways of telling the Swan Lake story, using movement and theatrical storytelling. It is a unique opportunity for young people to discover and develop their creativity in a safe and supportive environment under the guidance of real pros.
