This summer a large range of local organisations are using the Tobacco Factory’s spaces to run courses, classes, workshops and more…

Meisner Drop-In Session
Fri 30 July
Come and join Jack Price for an advanced Meisner repetition session. NB This session is only suitable for those who’ve studied Meisner before. Sandford Meisner was one of the original members of the Group Theatre along with Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and Harold Clurman.

Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory summer school
2 - 13 August
SATTF scheduled two, one week Summer Schools, which will give students the opportunity to work with members of the company who offer a wide range of professional experience in stage, radio, TV, film and education.

Kompany Malakhi summer school
16 - 20 August
A dance and physical theatre summer school led by nationally acclaimed dance company, Kompany Malakhi. Based on Kompany Malakhi’s distinctive and unique ways to develop movement through cross discipline art forms, this summer school will develop skills in dance and physical theatre to create brand new ways of moving.

The Big Act West End Boot Camp
23 - 27 August
The Big Act are working at The Tobacco Factory for one week in August giving young people aged 4 – 18 yrs the chance to work with industry professionals developing their performance skills. Participants will spend the week working with professional performers developing a variety of skills such as acting, singing, movement, stage combat, mask, mime, improvisation and physical theatre.

Summer dance classes for professionals
7, 15 & 22 August
With the support of the Tobacco Factory Theatre, a group of Bristol-based dance practitioners will run a series of drop-in professional dance classes throughout August in the Tobacco Factory’s Brewery studio. These classes will be by donation only and are a rare and exciting opportunity to enjoy professional level classes and also support the profile of dance in the city.

Eddie is unsure where he’s going and less sure where he’s been, so brace yourself for a weird and wonderful ride.

Meningitis UK summer fundraising party
12 August
A summer party, with sought-after sporting memorabilia looks set to whip up an auctioning storm.
A whole host of signed gems are up for grabs at Meningitis UK’s shindig at the Tobacco Factory on August 12, which is being held to celebrate the support they have received from local people, families and sponsors.
