Falling asleep in the theatre encouraged!

Next week (Thurs 4 - Sat 6 Nov) the ever-innovative Stan’s Cafe return to the TF with their brand new show-cum-live radio broadcast, Tuning out With Radio Z. If you’re already familiar with the company’s work, you’ll know this isn’t a show to miss; if you’re not, you’re in for a real treat. Find out more about the show here.

During their visit, Stan’s Cafe are offering a unique opportunity to take part in their show, and all you have to do is fall asleep!
Here’s what they say…

Basically for each performance we need 4 or 5 people to either sleep or pretend to be asleep on beds (that are part of the set) on stage. It sets the context and atmosphere for the performance and the performers interact with the sleeping figures during the show. They need to be able to stay for the duration of the show (about 3 hours) and meet the performance team about 30 minutes before the start of the performance for a briefing. They can wear on stage whatever they feel comfortable to sleep in. They don’t need any particular previous experience or skills. The same people can do more than one night if they want to!

If you’re interested in taking part in a show by one of the most interesting companies working today, then please contact Carrie on theatre[at]tobaccofactory.com, saying which evening(s) you’re available for sleeping duties.
